What is defensive driving?

As a professional commercial driver, you drive up to 11 hours in a 14-hour period a day on the road and that is much more time than what we label as recreational drivers who do not hold a professional license and drive only a few hours a week. As a professional driver, you need to be on the defensive when on the road. Let’s face it, recreational drivers on the road are not concerned about a larger commercial vehicle whether a truck or a bus because most recreational drivers don’t understand the intricacies of driving a larger motor vehicle.

Throughout this course, we are going to give you tips on defensive driving. These tips are not in any particular order of importance as they all have importance for your driving success. Our goal for this course is to give you fundamental techniques you can use on the road, which in turn will keep you and everyone around you safe.
